Meet Ryan Joseph Brillantes, the current Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) General Manager in the Philippines. In this exciting role, Ryan was a key player in the opening of Electric Carnival, a flagship venue by HBL that introduced a new wave of entertainment to Araneta, Philippines.
Ryan’s journey with HBL began while he was working at a theme park in the UAE, where he collaborated with HBL on various projects. Even after moving to another company and theme park in Malaysia, he continued working with HBL, building a lasting partnership. “From the very beginning, I found working with the HBL team to be an absolute joy. Every project was a vibrant mix of creativity, teamwork, and fun,” he recalls.
Though overseeing operations at Electric Carnival, Araneta is Ryan’s primary role, he’s also taken on various responsibilities to support the team. From stepping in as a cashier to closely monitoring sales, working as an arcade attendant explaining game rules, and even assisting guests as a bowling and billiard attendant – Ryan has done it all. However, the role that resonates with him the most is being a leader. He takes great pride in supporting his team in performing at their best while ensuring guests leave with smiles.
When asked about his proudest achievement in HBL, Ryan Joseph Brillantes shared that it was the successful opening of an FEC within a tight timeframe. From setting up equipment and gaming machines to training the team, this project demanded full cooperation and seamless coordination from everyone involved. “The day we opened the doors to guests was magical,” Ryan said. Watching excited visitors explore the games and seeing the pride on the team’s faces was a highlight they’ll never forget. “It’s moments like those that remind me why I love what I do.”
Ryan has faced his share of challenges along the way at HBL. Instead of letting the occasional malfunctioning arcade machines and billiards tables slow things down, he implemented immediate reporting and quicker response times to resolve these problems efficiently.
These challenges have instilled resilience in him and highlighted the importance of staying adaptable. With a positive, solution-oriented approach, he has helped the operation flourish while continuing to bring joy to guests.
