This month’s HBL Employee Spotlight shines on Josh Forrester, the Games Manager at Six Flags New England! Josh’s journey with HBL began in 2021 as a part-time Skill Games Operator at Alton Towers, and in just a few short years, he’s grown into a key leadership role in the USA.
“I grew to enjoy the job and the team I worked with,” Josh shares. In 2022, he got the opportunity to travel overseas and gain more experience and knowledge by travelling to the Middle East for the winter season. He even got to attend the 2022 World Cup, held in Qatar, while also visiting other HBL-partnered sites in Los Angeles and Sydney, Australia.
By 2023, he was promoted to Games Supervisor at Alton Towers, before he set his sights on even more secondment opportunities across the globe. Over the following seasons, he worked at parks across Europe, Australia, and the United States, where he gained new skills and learned from other experienced managers around the world. He’s worked across multiple continents and quickly adapted to new environments, even when faced with language or communication challenges. However, what stands out most to him is the rapid growth he’s experienced within the company.
In January 2025, Josh Forrester stepped into his biggest role yet: Site Manager at Six Flags New England in the USA. Now responsible for a team of over 50 employees, Josh leads daily operations and manages stock control across the park. Apart from his managerial duties, Josh has also picked up hands-on skills along the way, including trades like carpentry, where he often lends a hand with projects like building games or enhancing existing skill games features.
Reflecting on his journey so far, Josh offers this advice to someone who is just starting out in HBL: “Say yes to any opportunities. It can broaden your future and help you progress far more than staying in one place.” For now, his current plan is focused on enjoying the day-to-day life at HBL and continuing his growth with the company in the years ahead.
