When Dawood Burhan joined HBL as a Game Operator, it marked the beginning of a career journey defined by growth and teamwork. Despite the fast-paced world of skill games and operations, he quickly embraced the energy and excitement that came with the role.
As a Games Operator, Dawood was tasked with managing game sessions, assisting customers and ensuring smooth operations throughout. In just two short months, he was promoted to Team Leader, where he led shifts, supported team members and maintained quality service. Within the next six months, Dawood achieved another significant milestone in his journey – becoming the first local Games Manager in Saudi Arabia. In his current role, he oversees the full operation of the sites, manages schedules, trains new staff and ensures every aspect of the site runs efficiently. But beyond the tasks, it was the people who made it rewarding.
One of his proudest moments came when his team hit the site target twice, boosting sales through improved customer engagement. “It was moments like these that reflect the team’s hard work and our focus on delivering great experience,” he recalled. Dawood also recalled an unforgettable highlight of his career, where he had the opportunity to travel abroad to share his experience. This allowed him to grow personally and professionally while representing HBL.
Throughout his journey with HBL, Dawood also faced challenges. Preparing a full site in a short period of time tested his planning and leadership skills. The task required strong coordination among the teams and quick decision-making, but with proper planning and teamwork, they successfully completed everything on time while meeting operational expectations.
When asked about the next stage of his journey, Dawood Burhan is eager to continue growing with HBL, exploring new responsibilities that push his limits and strengthen his leadership skills. He hopes to gain more experience in operations and management while developing his own skills. “In the future, I would love to go deeper on a company level and visit different HBL sites globally to learn about their operations and share best practices across teams,” he shared.
