Donna is the Senior Buyer for the company working as an integral part of the purchasing team. Donna has a wonderful 27 year’s service with the company having started her career as a trained Chef. She decided on a career change and enrolled at night school to train in accountancy and secretarial skills. A love of playing the arcade machines at Fifth Avenue in Llandudno and an obsession with collecting fabulous toys and prizes by winning on the machines, led her to an introduction to HB Leisure’s head office and she began her full time employment as a purchase ledger clerk. As her experience of the company grew, she joined the purchasing team, where she remains today, but with a far greater remit than when she started out. Some of her main duties include designing new products and forecasting the demand for products across the UK, Europe and USA sites, all of which have their own different requirements and regulations. Donna has been a key player in visiting trade shows and exhibitions including visits to China where many of the products are made. She supports and supervises the head office team as it continues to grow and expand. Donna feels a great sense of achievement when a new product she has been involved with from the initial concept to being won by our customers all over the world. The fast-paced environment means that no two days are the same.

Robyn joined HB Leisure after moving from one fast-paced industry to another, with her early background working in hospitality. Whilst studying at college, she joined the company for additional income as a games operator at Legoland California. She says that working in the theme park environment is ‘electric’ and having partnered with HB Leisure’s culture, she became hooked and quickly decided to switch careers. Today, Robyn is Vice President of USA Operations. She champions the setup of new sites and within the USA has seen exponential growth over the past two years especially. She trains new managers in running successful operations and is always looking for ways to improve processes and ways of working throughout the US business. Her journey started in 2011 with her part time role as games operator, but her talent was spotted and she was promoted to Team Lead and Assistant Games Manager quickly and she remained at Legoland for almost six years. In 2017 she took a leap to relocate to the East Coast and became Games Manager in Luna Park, New York and then on to Lake Compounce in Connecticut in North America. From 2020 onwards, Robyn has travelled the country setting up operations with some of the country’s biggest partner parks, including Sea World, Busch Gardens and Six Flags. Robyn says that the best thing about working for the company is the shared goals whilst working in an environment where people are happy to be enjoying the fun that the theme park brings.
